Your travel notes

Head north on Miyako Island for open coastal views. Cape Nishi-Hennazaki looks towards Ikema Island, Ikema Bridge and Irabu Island. It is separate from Cape Higashi-Hennazaki in the southeast.

What to look out for

  1. Sea and island views from Miyako's northwest
  2. A stop to pair with the Ikema Bridge drive
  3. Time to notice wind, light and clouds

Pause before continuing north

Include the cape in an Ikema-area itinerary. Visibility and sea colour change with the weather; enjoy the conditions you find rather than expecting a particular photograph.

Plan a drive from Hirara

This is not a town-centre walking stop. Arrange return transport and keep away from exposed edges in strong wind.

TRIP IDEAS

One suggested way to include this stop in a walk or drive.

  1. Build a manageable northern-island route.
