The 35th Higashi Village Azalea Festival
Event Overview
The 35th Higashi Village Azalea Festival takes place at Higashi Village Tsutsuji Eco Park from March 3–22, 2017.
Azaleas usually flower from late spring to the rainy season, peaking around May, but this garden has Japan's earliest blooms. Enjoy around 50,000 azaleas in March.
Alongside the flowers, daily events include comedy, a show by Hollywood-recognized magician MASA, an island-wide karaoke contest, Eisa and a stamp rally.

Colorful Azaleas with Sea Views
From the elevated park, see blooming azaleas against the Pacific Ocean. The vivid flowers, spring sky and blue water create a beautiful contrast and excellent photo opportunities. Take pictures from different angles or simply relax and enjoy the view.
Enchanting Azaleas After Dark
Special illuminations are planned for March 11, 18 and 19, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. Enjoy a different view of the azaleas at night, with live performances by Okinawa-based violinist ARIA, singer Manami and sanshin performer Kazuya Gibo, among others. Flowers and music create a special atmosphere.
To enjoy both the fresh daytime flowers and their magical illuminated appearance, arrive in the late afternoon and take your time.

By car on ordinary roads: About 2 hours 30 minutes from Naha or 1 hour 30 minutes from Kyoda Interchange
Parking: 450 vehicles, with separate bus parking
By bus: About a 15-minute walk from Taira bus stop
